The memorable day that Muslim youth in Malawi has been waiting for is finally here, as one of the the country’s finest Muslim artists Muhammad Chirimba is geared to become the first talented Muslim singer to release a DVD titled Imfayi ndi Ulaliki this week.
The don’t-miss event, which is expected to attract a multitude of people, is scheduled to take place at Kameza training centre in Blantyre – setting the pace for other local Nasheed artists.
Of late, there has been heavy criticism directed to local Nasheed artists over lack of interest in releasing DVDs for their nasheeds which enjoy airplay at on Radio Islam Malawi.
Therefore Chirimba’s DVD will make his fellow artists to follow suit in venturing into similar projects.
The Ndirande based artist has meanwhile called on Muslims to patronise his DVD launch saying they will not be let down.
He said other artists such as Ishmael Katawala, Ahmad Pilo, Salim Kumpita, Jafar Uthman ,Grant Norman will curtain raise the function.
Apart from this well known comedians Anganga Ajabiru and Anganga Afiki together with poets like Hassan Phiri, Sulaimana technology Saiti and Idrissa Adam Chindungwa of the popular poem Tachiwape will spice up the event .
“Apart from enjoying live performance participants will also sample the DVD which has popular nasheeds like Mwasankha chani, lilime (Kachiwalo) and hijaab.”
Chirimba has meanwhile said most prominent Muslim figures have already confirmed their participation at the launch.
