Another suspect arrested in connection to filling station robbery

Police in the Eastern Region have arrested one more suspect in connection to the robbery that took place at Mount Meru Filling Station in Balaka on November 18 2019.

Eastern region police public relations officer Inspector Joseph Sauka said the suspect Sarah Sosola, 36, was arrested on 21st November, 2019 at Chilimba in Blantyre after an intensive enquiry.

“The investigations have revealed that Sarah is the one who was driving the vehicle that was used in the robbery,”

“Police have also recovered the vehicle, Toyota Ractis registration number LL 8773, which was used in the robbery,” Sauka said.

Sauka said that her arrest brings to the number of suspects arrested to two following the arrest of Steven Dominic, 32, and recovery of K2,399,460.00 on the day of the robbery.

Meanwhile, police has intensified investigations to arrest the remaining suspects and assure the public of their safety and security.

Sarah comes from Nzanani Village, Traditional Authority Chakhumbira in Ntcheu district, but was residing at Chilimba in Blantyre.
