Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has extended warm greetings to all Muslims in the country and across the globe as they celebrate Eidul fitr marking the end of 30-day fasting period.
Speaking to Malawi Muslims Official Website few hours ago from Madīnat al-Kuwayt, Kuwait’s capital, MAM National Chairman Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad said:
“I have heard that the moon has been sighted today. I therefore, would like to send Eid greetings to Muslim communities in the Malawi and around the world. Ramadan has been a time for us Muslims to share the happiness of coming together in intense devotion, reflection, and service. As Ramadan comes to an end, I send my best wishes for a blessed holiday to Muslim communities around the world. Eid Mubarak.”
Tomorrow Sunday the 19th August 2012 Muslims will be bidding farewell to the month of Ramadan marking the end of 30-day fasting period.
This follows the sighting of the moon today.
National Ruyatul Hilaal Spokesperson Sheikh Dinala Chabulika has confirmed the development to Malawi Muslims Official Website.
According to the Muslim lunar calendar, Eid Al-Fitr begins the morning after the sighting of the new moon ending Ramadan, the ninth month of the lunar calendar.
