As campaign period heats up, 64 Members of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) have defected to the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in Nkhatabay district.
The new DPP members were welcomed by the party’s Director of Logistics who is also Minister of Tourism Vuwa Kaunda.
Kaunda said those who need to join the party still has time.
“DPP’s open door policy remains intact. It is never too late to join the DPP,” he said
Kaunda reminded Nkhatabay residents that president Peter Mutharika has developed the district by constructing a magnificent district hospital, roads and technical college among others.
“President Mutharika will continue to develop the district. I am urging you to vote for DPP-UDF alliance in the fresh presidential elections for development to continue in the district,” he said.
The DPP-UDF alliance will be represented by President Peter Mutharika on the ballot with Atupele Muluzi as his runningmate.
