Muslim Youth Foundation (MYF) has successfully renovated Bitoni Mosque, Petani village, Traditional Authority Khwethemule in Thyolo district. Recently, the organization also renovated Amidu mosque, Amidu village, Traditional Authority M’bwatalika in Lilongwe district.
The programs Manager for the organization Jafar Jameson has confirmed the development. Jameson told the Malawi Muslims Official Website that the renovated mosque which was handed over to the Muslim community in Petani village yesterday provides a good place for prayers.
“The completion of the mosque will ensure Muslims surrounding the mosque have a good place where they can offer prayers than before unlike before,” Jameson says.
The MYF Programs Manager says the renovation activities include the construction of a verandah for ablution, fixing the leaking roof, putting up of the doors and windows, construction of a waterway around the mosque, and painting.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Bitoni mosque Mr. Limited Chisale commended MYF for the gesture. Mr. Chisale has further asked MYF and other well-wishers to construct other infrastructures at the mosque such as houses for their Muslim leader (sheiks). Mr. Chisale also decried lack of Madrassah at the mosque.
Muslim Youth Foundation (MYF) is a group of Muslim youth who are passionate to improve the welfare of all Muslims in Malawi. MYF’s ambition is to make social services accessible to the communities. MYF also needs Muslim communities in Malawi to become independent economically. To achieve this, MYF’s strategy is to act as a bridge by finding resources in order to fill the gap in the social and economy of the community.
Muslim Youth Foundation vows to reach out to other areas where there is also a need to help in the areas of education, health, agriculture, and entrepreneurship across the country.
