HTD Ltd has donated a bus to Islamic Funeral Services in Blantyre to help muslims carry the dead bodies to burial places within and outside Blantyre District.
Speaking at the hand over ceremony HTD Ltd Directors Haleem Sidik and Muhammad Fayazi expressed sadness over the plight Muslims in the city of Blantyre were under going during funerals.
Haleem Sidik said the funerals were not transported in the dignified manner and without proper van covers during rain seasons as such they came in with the donation of the bus.
Receiving the donation the chairperson of Islamic Funeral Services (IFS) His Excellence the former Ambassador to Egypt Yahaya Mmadi said the donation has come in right time when the organization is registering many members in the city.
“Muslims in the city of Blantyre are now relieved of the problems they were facing in carrying dead bodies and we are very thankful to HTD for their rapid response to this problem” Yahaya Mmadi said.
“I on behalf of IFS continually appeal to other well-wishers to help IFS acquire more means of transport as done by HTD Ltd”, said Mr Mmadi.
The District Commissioner for Chitipa, Hamisi Twabi one of the members who envisioned the idea of establishing Islamic Funeral Services travelled all the way from Chitipa to witness the occasion.
“We are foreseeing this organization benefiting more people. And we ask other members to emulate HTD Ltd to contribute whatever they feel can make this organization tick and deliver”, Twabi said.
The function was held at Soche (Kamba) Majid in Blantyre and was witnessed by islamic non governmental organizations such as Muslim Association of Malawi, National Islamic Zakaat Fund, Nikah and Other Islamic Functions Association (NIFA) and others.
