Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital Matron Mrs. Mary Hara said she was very pleased with Muslim Women’s visit at her hospital saying they have proved wrong rumours that Muslims in Malawi are “selfish and cruel.”
Mrs Hara was speaking after Muslim Women Organisation (MWO) organized a tour to share joys of the Holy Eid-ul-Adhuha with kith and kin at the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre on Wednesday.
“ On behalf of chief Matron here at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital I am very happy with the coming in of these Muslim women here and share the little they had with my patients. Patients lack a lot of things, not only food but also love from their friends and relatives. So with their coming, they have shown love which God commands us to do. I think people should take a lesson from here because some say that Muslims are selfish and cruel but today you have proved them wrong and we have seen that Muslims are also Malawians,” Hara told Malawi Muslim Official Website.
On her remarks, sister Aisha Sambuka who was the coordinator of the organizing committee said it pleased her organization to visit the hospital because she believes that patients lack love and care from their family and friends.
“You know this is time of sharing. So we thought it wise to come here and share with patients the little we have,” she told Malawi Muslim Official Website.
“I would also ask all organizations in Malawi to come here because these people lacks our support. God can not give them directly but He uses people like us,” she said.
Among other things, the organisation distributed the sacrificial meat, soap and sugar to over 150 patients including staff and security guards in Ward 6A and Burns Unit.
Muslims should live by example. Honesty and good character is the only way of conquering the lost souls.
Ha ha ha. Its fun how MANY people think exactly the opposite of Islam. If they were clever, they would take time to learn more about this BEAUTIFUL DEEN of Islam.
Hands up to MWO.
This is what I guess a strong Dawah means. Islam teaches to behave well with the non-Muslims. Even the Holy Qur'an emphasizes that we should not insult them otherwise they insult our beautiful Deen. Characters attract majority. Islam has been a victim of bad rumors and insults. It's our time to show off. Let's teach those people who we are.
Keep it up MWO, I also urge other organizations to join hand-in-hand with MWO in this way
You are true brother. Thats why we say people will judge Islam by our behaviour and characters
This great. We need to present ourselves in a complete way as muslims by practising those Islamic manners for other people to understand us better. There are horrible misconceptions about this beautiful deen. Our actions as muslims shall refute all these.Muslims are people of good manners as well as kind and not the opposite.Islam is acomplete way of life.Lets leave by its teachings.
Islam is not, has never been and will never be cruel. Had the world known ISLAM, peace would prevail in palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan and all over. What the women have portrayed is what Islam is all about.
This is a call for all of us who claim to be muslims to live in check. Our character in the society matters. Remember the story of the prophet and the old woman who was emigrating just to stay away from the holy prophet Muhammad? The woman embraced the deen because of the prophet's character. His life was perfect hence; described as the living Qur'an, and so should we. Emulating his life style is more worthy while than the western influenced culture. Muhammad remains the most wonderful person ever lived in the world. So, what else do we need as a model????? 50 cent?, Michael Jackson?, Beyonce?, Rayhana?, Drogba?, Lionell Messie?,Fabregas or our political leaders??????
The remarks by our dear Queens nurse would have long been the belief of the whole would if only we embraced Islam so dearly and practised its teachings. Thanks and congratulation to Muslim women Organisation for leading as our example… Keep up the noble work mothers…… Big Up!!!!
This is a reminder to all muslims that our way of life has a bearing on the way people perceive Islam as a religion. we therefore should strive to live exemplary life which will potray the real image and teaching of Islam. It is indeed shameful to find muslims behaving even worse than the pagans of this world. it is our duty as muslims to make sure that our daily lives correspond to the teachings of our religion. that way, we will be able to present the real image of this deen inshaallah.
