The items were officially handed over to the Ministry of Health by KSA’s Deputy Ambassador based in Nairobi, Kenya, His Excellency Mr Nasser Mohammed Al, Faidi who was accompanied by the National Chairman of the Muslim Association of Malawi Sheikh Idrissah Muhammad.

Speaking during the function, Deputy Minister of Health Chrissie Kalamula Kanyaso commended the Government of Saudi Arabia for the support.

“Today and as a testimony to the continued inflow of support, we have a response to the same call of the Government of Saudi Arabia through a donation of PPEs. On behalf of the Government and People of Malawi, I thank the Government and People of Saudi Arabia for their love and this timely donation,” she said.

Kanyaso said the donation will go a long way in assisting the Government to provide protection for health workers in the various districts of Malawi.

“On behalf of the Government and People of Malawi, I ask you Sir to convey my sincere gratitude to the Government and People of Saudi Arabia for the consideration and this noble gesture that comes out of sheer generosity when all countries are facing hardships of one form or the other. We the people of Malawi do not take this for granted. The donation will contribute to the strengthening of preventive measures against COVID 19 in the health facilities so that patients continue to get health care,” she said.
