
Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) Board of Trustees Vice Chairperson who is also Minister of Transport and Public Infrastructure Sidik Mia has commended Muslims in the country for showing their support towards the development of the Muslim community. Radio Islam online reported.
Honourable Mia was speaking at the opening ceremony of newly built Al-Madina Mosque at Mapira village in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Mponda in Mangochi.
Mia observed that the construction of Al-Madina Mosque in the area is a clear indication that Muslims have the interest in the developmental activities in the country.
He therefore asked Sheikhs and Traditional leaders to come up with committees that will help them to be sharing ideas on how they can develop Islam in various sectors.
Making his remarks, MAM National Chairman Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad said it is good for Muslims to work with government as one way of developing this country.
The National Chairman also appealed to the Muslim community in the country to remain united.
