Muslims in the country have congratulated a renowned political scientist and academic Dr. Mustafa Hussein upon his promotion to the rank of professor at the University of Malawi (UNIMA).
“When I saw a statement yesterday that Dr. Hussein is now a professor, I congratulated him via WhatsApp. I wished him well in his new rank ” Sheikh Omar Nkachelenga told Muslim Media Agency.
Meanwhile, several people have sent their congratulatory messages to the new professor.
In a statement signed by the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Malawi, Professor Samson Sajidu, dated 20th February, 2023, the promotion follows approval by the University of Malawi Council.
“Following approval by the University of Malawi Council , Dr . Mustafa Hussein and Dr. Ken Lipenga Jr, have been promoted to the rank of : Professor in Public Administration/Management and Professor in English Literature respectively, ” reads a statement.
According to a statement, the promotions with the immediate effect.
Professor Mustafa Hussein is a seasoned facilitator, trainer and researcher with vast experience in various areas including leadership, strategic management and politics. Specifically, he has authored numerous academic articles on decentralization in Malawi.
Professor Hussein has extensive experience in Malawi, working with government and civil society organisations.
He also has vast experience in Institutional analysis and organisation development relating to the private and public sectors, decentralisation, democracy, good governance and public sector reform.
