Muslim Football Players Shine at Ballon d’Or 2022 Ceremony

Last night, three Muslim football players namely Sadio Mane , Karim Benzema and Muhammad Salah finished in the top 5 of the Ballon d’ Or 2022 rankings.

Real Madrid CF and France striker Kerima Benzema was given the prestigious Ballon d’Or award 2022 for men’s football while Bayern Munich and Senegal forward Sadio finished second in the Ballon d’Or ranking making him the first person to rank high in the Ballon d’Or since President of Liberia George Weah.

Liverpool and Egypt striker Muhammad Salah finished 5th in the Ballon d’Or ranking 2022.

Sadio Mané also won the Socrates Award at the prestigious ceremony. The Prize identifies the best social initiative (humanitarian) by committed champions. He is the very first winner of the Award. Sadio gives back his fortune to his hometown in Bambali, Senegal. The best African footballer of 2022 built a school, a hospital and supports the needy among others in Bambali.

Karim Benzema had the best season with Real Madrid CF. He contributed intensively to Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League and La Liga victories. Sadio Mane led Senegal to their first ever AFCON title and sent Senegal to Qatar for World Cup 2022. Sadio Mane and Muhammad Salah helped Liverpool FC to finish second in the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

The auspicious event was held in Paris, France.
