A 14-year-old girl who died in August 2009 has resurrected from death but his parents are denying her.
The girl, Patuma Davite of M’bobo village in the area of Traditional Authority Chilooko in Ntchisi who is mentally disturbed but was a standard two pupil at Chilowamatame primary school in Ntchisi District died in August 2009 after she was bitten by a dog suspected to be attacked by rabies.
The parents and the relatives of the girl told police on Friday that the girl who died while she was nine year old and by the time of her death was known by the name of Jenala Davite was on 6 August 2014 seen loitering around M’bobo village in the area of Traditional Authority Chilooko in Ntchisi.
When people around the village saw the girl, they asked her where they were told that she was looking his father Davite Gideon of the village and the people later took her to his father.
Before the girl died, she was known by the name of Jenala Davite but now she is calling herself by the name of Patuma Davite.
The girl’s grandmother, Monica Chimzinga and the marriage counsellor of the family of Davite Gideon, Patrick Nason of Ziki village in the area of Traditional Authority Malenga in Ntchisi told police that they identified the girl to be their own daughter but the parents doubt and they have refused to take her to their home.
She is currently been taken by her grandfather and uncle where she is currently being kept and staying.
The relatives managed to identify the girl through a scar which the girl had on the leg at the time of her death.
Meanwhile, police is asking the members of the general public in the area to assist police in their investigations.
