Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. Looking good is not only important but is a MUST in Islam. The so-called fashions such as legs (pronounced as Legezi in Malawi), uni-sex clothing and denim jeans are prohibited in Islam.
To begin with, Islam does not condemn fashion but it should reflect to the true teachings of Islam because as we said above looking good is a must in Islam.
Wearing Hijab is not simply putting a piece of cloth on your head, rather it is an attitude. A way of thinking, and behaving as well as accepting yourself for who and what you are. We have to know that people will judge Islam by you that is why on the other hand, it is important to ascertain the motive for wearing Hijab. If you are wearing Hijab to please your husband, to impress people at the mosque, then you have to think it twice.
Hijab is a commandment and blessing from Allah (s.a.w) which came in order to protect women from sexual abuse and other difficulties because in the countries where Hijab is commonly won you will see that even the rate of rape cases is quite low. However, as with everything else, you should wear Hijab to please Allah only and any other motive will not sustain that fervor.
Hijab allows you to do everything you want in life whether studying, working, etc provided it is allowed in Islam and we have to wear it at those places because it makes us check out behaviour continuously, preventing us from doing the things which is forbidden in Islam. Hijab also qualifies to be Islamic way of life, the statement which also reflects to the attitude.
It is a little bit pity to see well educated women in Islam without wearing Hijab even at work. Instead you will see them in tight jeans, putting on weave and the so-called wigs. What picture are you giving to the next generation? Will our daughters see the importance of wearing Hijab if we tend not to be role models? We have to know that Hijab also acts as an identity. For anybody to identify you as a Muslim woman you must wear Hijab. Hijab is not Sunnah is Allah’s obligation. So leaving your hair outside is against the will of Allah.
