At least 45 reverts have graduated at Al-Barakah Charity Trust’s Zomba Development and Education Centre (ZODEC) upon completion of a fortnight training course in the basics of Islamic studies which started on 12 th February, 2012 to 25 th February, 2012.
The reverts who were drawn from Golomoti in Ntcheu, Monkey Bay in Mangochi and Domasi in Zomba, have under gone an intensive training in the basics of Qur’an, Hadeeth, Tauheed, Seerah, Duas and principles of Janazah (Funeral rites).
As part of the programme, seven reverts were circumcised.
Programme Officer for ZODEC Sheikh Aboobakar Burhaan commended Al-Barakah Charity Trust for the initiative in funding reverts programmes at ZODEC.
“Training reverts is essential in the development of Islam at individual as well as community level”, remarked Sheikh Burhaan. “I therefore ask all our stakeholders to continue supporting us in these initiatives”, said the Programme Officer.
Leader for the participants, Jay Masina of Golomoti, Ntcheu commended ZODEC for according them a chance to train in Islamic knowledge.
“Since our reverting to Islam we could not access Islamic knowledge and this is a great opportunity to us”, remarked Jay Masina.
Zomba Development & Education Centre is one of the projects of Al-Barakah Charity Trust which has mandate to train Reverts in the organization. Currently, ZODEC has hosted 59 Reverts courses across Malawi.
