The Holy Quran says โO you who believe! Eat of the good things wherewith We have provided you, and render thanks to Allah if it is (indeed) He whom you worshipโ (2:172).
And also the Hadith narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), says: The Messenger of Allah said: โAllah the Almighty is good and accepts only that which is good.”
This is the reason why it is good for the Muslims eat Halaal food all the time and nobody can be surprised to see the Halaal Department registering high number of new applicants on Halaal Certificate each and every year.
National Coordinator for Halaal Department Shoaib Mzoma said the department has this year registered high rate of new Halaal Certificate applicants.
However, Mzoma said despite that the department has already managed to process some of them, others are still being scrutinized.
โAccording to the nature of this department, it expands each and every year since a lot of people are coming in to apply for the halaal certificates and only few also withdraw their certificates. Currently more than 350 Halaal outlets have been established by 2015 and more than 100 applicants are still scrutinized to see if it is really worthy to offer them the certificates,โ said Mzoma.
Mzoma therefore said despite having several halaal outlets in the country so far, still there is challenge for people to locate some of them but heย said the department is trying to solve that problem.
โIt is true that we have that challenge but what we always do is to have the outlets that we will be able to inspect. The major problem is that we donโt have formal business structure a lot of people sale their meat and whatever on an open place which gives us more troubles to offer them a certificate. In short, let me just say we donโt rush when certifying a certain business for halaal,โ said the national coordinator.
Other people donโt understand and care about taking Halaal food but according to one of the scholars Camille Silla Paldi said Halaal food has a very low rate of incidences of food poisoning and contamination in contrast to food sold in major supermarkets and fast food chains, which often contains e-coli poisoning and other life threatening poisons, bacteria, and substances due to unclean processing and packaging procedures, chemical additives, pesticides, and hormones.
This is why many people even those who are not Muslims are willing to eat Halaal food for health; for Islamic wise, Jaabir (Radiyallaahu Anhu) narrates in his hadith that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, โNo meat (i.e. person) that was nourished with haraam will enter paradise. This means that those who take haraam food deserve fire and Mzoma also concurred with them.
โItโs not only the Muslims who want to eat Halaal certified food, even non-Muslims are nowadays buying and applying for the halaal certificates because they have realized that they are good for health. ,โ he concluded.
