As one way of paying back to the community, four University of Zanzibar graduates who were under Islamic Zakkat Fund (IZF) have introduced an organization called Carrier Plus Training and Consultancy with the aim of assisting the needy students who are at secondary school.
Carrier Plus Training and Consultancy Managing Director Hanif Munthali told Malawi Muslims Website that they decided to establish the organization to promote Information Communication and Technology (ICT) and professional development skills by providing low priced training and consulting services to the youth and other organizations
Munthali said his organization gives a training opportunity in data entry and analysis, graphics and designing, web designing and fundamental computer skills.
โCarrier Plus Training and Consultancy was founded by four graduates from the University of Zanzibar and all of us were under Islamic Zakaat Fund (IZF). We introduced this organization to be a leading youth-led training and consulting in Information Communication and Technology (ICT),โ said Munthali.
Munthali said currently they are trying to assist the needy students who are struggling to get fees at community secondary schools where school fees is cheaper and expecting to expand in the near future if they get support from the general public by accessing their services.
โOur firm offers trainings and consulting services in Data collection and analysis, Graphics and designing, Web design and development services, computer maintenance and training in Microsoft office packages for individuals as well as small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
โThis approach enables the clients to meet and exceed their goals, as we commit all our resources to the achievement of the quality, equity and excellence in training and consulting services. This effort fulfills the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGโs) 4 and 8,โ he said.
The firm which is also recognized by the Technical Entrepreneurial Vocational Education and Training (TEVET) has so far trained over 200 people with 60% of them are youths.
โWe offer these trainings at a low-priced charges to youth and disadvantaged in our local communities that would enable them to become employable through wage or self-employment, and Muslim youths are encourage to come and have this training at a giveaway price or free of charge depending on their statusโ he said.
So far the organization has conducted these trainings in different districts including in Blantyre at polytechnic, Zomba at Chancellor College and is also expecting to take the same training in Lilongwe. The organization is comprised other graduates including Masood Kaondo, Wonderful Kunje and Abdullah Kaulesi all holders of Degrees in Business Information Technology from University of Zanzibar.
โWe are asking different organizations and individuals to involve us so that we can train them or their employees so that we can mobilize more resources to assist the needy because we want to take part in developing the country and empowering the youths,โ he concluded.
