Police in Mangochi have arrested 39-year-old Wellington Maphuwa for allegedly being found with 207 coupons for this year’s Farm Input Subsidy Programme( FISP).
Mangochi police public relations officer Inspector Rodrick Maida said on Monday, the suspect went to Masuku Agora Depot in Mangochi where he was found with 5 coupons of Urea Fertilizer, 2 coupons of NPK fertilizer, 100 coupons of legume and 100 coupons of cereal all bearing Machinga District serial numbers.
“Police from Namwela Police Post immediately apprehended the suspect and filed a case of unlawful possession of official documents,” Maida said.
Maphuwa is going to appear before court after completion of paperwork.
He comes from Kambani in Traditional Authority Mwambo in Zomba District.
