The approach used by United Democratic Front (UDF) party President Atupele Muluzi in the fight against novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is commendable.
The battle against the disease needs instant action, an approach that Atupele Muluzi has demonstrated so far. Muluzi is distributing face masks to the health workers who are leading the fight against COVID-19.
Among others, Muluzi’s UDF and ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has so far distributed protective masks to health workers at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in Lilongwe district and Nguludi Hospital in Chiradzulu district.
The approach is extraordinary that many patriotic citizens must follow.
“Yesterday – Hon. Mctimes Malowa and I visited Nguludi hospital, donated 2500 face masks and thanked health workers for their incredible work saving lives. We need to be aware of the reality of COVID-19, to move from rhetoric to action and take care of our own,” he wrote on his Facebook page three days ago.
The UDF party President is not only distributing protective masks in the current time of COVID-19. He is also donating food items that he acquired from his Chinese friends to the people across the country.
Muluzi has so far among others distributed bags of maize flour, cooking oil, sugar and soap in Blantyre, Chiradzulu and Lilongwe among other districts.
“In these uncertain times, this morning I assisted in the distribution of foodstuffs and other supplies to over 200 families at Gunde village Traditional Authority Masula – Msinja South Constituency in Lilongwe,” he said in a Facebook post.
UDF is in electoral alliance with the ruling Democratic Party (DPP) ahead of 2nd July, 2020 fresh elections ordered by the Constitutional Court after nullifying last year’s presidential polls on 3rd February, 2020.
