The MCP, UTM and its alliance partners have distanced themselves from the newly formed diaspora (entity) wing conducting its business under the name of “Tonse Alliance.”
MCP, UTM aliance says the wing was independently established outside of their alliance and respective party structures and as such, it does not have the mandate to conduct business or speak on behalf of the alliance in the diaspora.
This is contained in a statement jointly signed by UTM Publicity Secretary, Dr. Chidanti Malunga and MCP Publicity Secretary, Rev. Maurice Munthali.
In a statement, the MCP, UTM alliance is advising those behind the entity( wing) to cease misdirecting their members and the general public.
“Seek guidance from the alliance and channel your efforts through the established diaspora structures with our alliance that oversee diaspora related issues on behalf of our respective parties,” reads a statement in part.
A statement is emphasizing to all of their members and all the general public that while innovative ideas from individuals and groups aimed at goal forward are welcome, to ensure that they are all on the same page and to avoid sowing seeds of confusion, those interested in making contributions are being asked to go through the appropriate channels and consult before putting their ideas into action.
The MCP, UTM alliance and its alliance partners held the first ever public rally in Mzuzu that they are together for the new Malawi to be formed after July2, 2020 Fresh Presidential Election( FPE) as ordered by the Constitutional Court.
