Mangochi Police Station has opened a case of alleged murderer following death of two girls aged 5 and 6 in the district, Malawi Muslim Website has learnt.
Mangochi Police Station Public Relations Officer Rodrick Maida told Malawi Muslim Website that the said girls from different families were last seen playing outside the compound of the suspect, ldrissa Wasi , a businessman after taking their breakfast on May 14, 2020.
“The girls were found dead by the wife of ldrissa in their motor vehicle inside their compound on May 15, 2020 at about 1800hrs at Kera Village in Traditional Authority Mponda in Mangochi,” Maida says.
In reaction to the development, an angry mob took the law into their own hands in which they set on fire five motor vehicles and three houses and one warehouse property of the suspect.
Meanwhile Mangochi police station is keeping in custody ldrissa Wasi for questioning as investigations are underway.
