Member of Parliament (MP) for Kampala Central Division Constituency in Uganda Muhammad Nsereko has congratulated President Elect, Dr Lazarus Chakwera.
According to unofficial results, Dr Chakwera has been elected as Malawi’s Sixth State President during fresh presidential polls held on 23rd June, 2020.
Nsereko who is also a lawyer says Dr Chakwera is a great man who will lead the country diligently .
“Congratulations to my friend Dr. Lazarus Chakwera the President Elect of Malawi and leader of the Malawi Congress Party. Please maintain our stance against foreign exploitation of Africa.
You are a humble unifier and an intellectual ,” he says.
Unofficial results are indicating that Dr Chakwera has scooped 2.6 million votes (59.4 percent ) while Incumbent President Professor Peter Mutharika has scooped 1.7 million votes (39.9 percent )
Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) says official results will be announced within a legal time frame of eight days.
