Human Rights Defenders Coalition has disclosed that will be meeting meet President Dr Lazarus Chakwera this afternoon, to discuss issues surrounding the newly appointed cabinet.
Speaking after adressing the press in Lilongwe HRDC Chairperson Gift Trapence said his organization has received complaints from different Malawians over the cabinet unveiled yesterday by the state President.
“As HRDC we are going to meet the president this afternoon and the agenda of the meeting is to address concerns raised by Malawians in all quarters as most of them describe the new cabinet as full of favouritism and nepotism. As Malawians we expect change from this new administration not doing the same like that of DPP regime”,said Trapence.
Trapence noted that they want the president to be clear on this appointment which has attracted different reactions from different people in the country.
“We are going to ask the president on what criteria has been used to appoint this kind of cabinet and after that we will say our stand on this cabinet as HRDC”,said Trapence.
Trapence further confirmed that the concerns are coming from both Tonse Alliance and all stakeholders across the country.
