Muslim leaders in the country have hailed the decisive leadership approach of President Dr Lazarus Chakwera.
The leaders say the president is visionary to take the country forward.
In its manifesto, the Tonse Alliance led by Dr Chakwera promised to free Statutory Corporations such as the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Malawi Broadcasting Corporation(MBC) to discharge duties according to the laws of the land.
The approach has impressed Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) Spokesperson Sheikh Dinala Chabulika.
Chabulika told the Daily Times Newspaper that the approach will ensure that the institutions are discharging duties to the expectations of Malawians.
Sheikh Chabulika also hailed Chakwera for disclosing that he will be going to the Parliament to take questions.
“The moment the President is going to do that (appearing before Parliament ) definitely he will win the hearts of Malawians because that is transparency and accountability,” Chabulika told the Daily Times Newspaper.
The Quadria Muslim Association of Malawi (QMAM) Publicity Secretary Sheikh Jafaar Kawinga hails Chakwera’s inaugural speech on 6th July, 2020.
Both MAM and QMAM have pledged to support Government.
