Malawi’s football fraternity is mourning following the death of former top Flames Supporter, Raphael Nasimba.
Nasimba, who was a diehard fan of Nyasa Big Bullets and also served as club’s chief supporter, died on Thursday morning, 14 January 2021 at Zomba Central Hospital.
Meanwhile, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) says is “deeply saddened” by the death of Nasimba.
In a Press Statement released by the association, FAM President Walter Nyamilandu Manda described Nasimbaโs death “as a big blow to Malawi Football as he was one of the top passionate football supporters in the country”.
“Our father at University Football Club, Chief Supporter of the Flames, diehard of Big Bullets FC. You have left an indelible mark in the history of Malawi Football.
โThere was never a dull moment. We will miss your sense of humour and cheerfulness, Rest in Peace Fathala (Father),โ said Nyamilandu.
He added: โWe would like to convey, as FAM, our heartfelt condolences to the Nasimba family, friends, Nyasa Big Bullets and all those he worked with. This is a sad day for Malawi football and we hope the Almighty will give the grieving family strength and hope in this time of mourning.โ
The burial will be on Friday January 15, 2021 in Zomba, according to family members as reported by Zodiak Online.
