Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has urged Muslim women in the country to acquire Islamic education at Ummmu Habiba Mualimat Training College in Mangochi to have an internationally recognized certificate.
The remarks were made by MAM Secretary General Alhaj Dr Twaibu Lawe during a graduation ceremony of Ten Mualimaat (Teachers) who finished studies at the institution.
Dr Lawe said expressed his excitement to learn that the learning institution is now headquartered in Newcastle, South Africa, earning itself international status.
“Graduates from this institution will now obtain internationally recognized qualification widely sought . I therefore , urge the Muslim community to send the female learners to this institution to acquire better Islamic education required for development of Islam in the country,” Dr Lawe said.
The Secretary General commended the Chancellor of the college, Sheikh Dr Alli Binali Makalani (PhD) for founding the institution and affiliating it to Muslim Association of Malawi.
Sheikh Dr Alli Binali Makalani (PhD) told Muslim Media Agency that the ten Muslim women have been fully trained to be Sheikhats and teachers in Madrassah and they are ready to discharge their duties diligently. The women have undergone a three year course to become complete academicians.
