Albarakah Charity Trust, Assalam Complex Madaris Quraniyah Department has handed over four sewing machines to widows who are breadwinners in Mangochi district.
The Administrative Officer of Albarakah Charity Trust, Sister Sakina M’bwana told Muslim Media Agency the sewing machines will help the women to support their families economically.
“This is one way of making them to be economically independent and self reliant,”she said.
According to M’bwana,the sewing machines are amongst the twelve that Aman Boundary donated.She says the remaining machines will be used for training ladies at Mangochi Development Centre (MADEC).
The Director of Madaris Quraniya, Sheikh Abdullah Ballah who presented the donation on behalf of Aman Boundary,encouraged the women to use the machines productively.
He urged them to apply the tailoring knowledge they acquired at MADEC to change their lives.
“You need to make good use of the machines to change your lives.I need to assure the women who have not received the sewing machines that soon,you will get yours,”Sheikh Ballah said.
So far,Sixty Two ladies have been trained in tailoring at Mangochi Development Centre. The centre commits to train more women to empower them economically.
