Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club has shown its dissatisfaction to Football Association of Malawi (FAM) over the revenue realised during the FDH Bank Cup Final which was played at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday 23rd October 2022 where two in house teams Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves Football Club faced off against their seniors Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club.
In a letter addressed to the FA Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club Chief Administration Officer Albert Chigoga says the team was happy was happy with the money generated during the matchday ticket sales but showed his disappointment over the pre-ticket sales.
“Nonetheless there is one observation i would like to bring to our attention on behalf of Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club. It is about how the advance sale of tickets was managed. Honestly we are not satisfied at all,”
“K17.7 Million collected on match day is somehow a true reflection in our view. But K4.8 Million collected from the advance sale of tickets for a duration of 3 days is not only an insult but also a clear manifestation of clandestine act. For Christ sake, we were preselling at K1 500 which was meant to lure people to buy in volumes,” he says.
Chigoga adds,”the conduct of NITL is questionable. How could NITL deposit the revenue at their office before reconciling with the stakeholders? And this tendency of using NITL to print, sell and reconcile the tickets raises eyebrows. This defeats the spirit of accountability.”
Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club won the match by beating their juniors by 3 goals to 1.
