“The request came from Egyptian Embassy to Malawi and among the names received and sent to Egypt for their assessment, Mussa of was successful and was offered opportunity to participate in that highly respected competition,” Maulana Panchi says.
QMAM Publicity Secretary says the young man represented the country well at the event.
“The competitors were graded into 7 level categories of which our Hafiz was in level 5. Hafiz Hasan Mussa participated well, however he was not successful. Egyptians were successful in all levels just very few from west Africa. All competitors were over 100,” he says.
Despite having memorised the holy Quran, Mussa, is also a 3rd year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology at Blantyre International University ( BIU).
