Muslims at Mwamadi Village, Sub Traditional Authority Tholowa in Zomba district are asking well-wishers to rebuild for them a modern mosque.
Speaking in an interview with Muslim Media Agency, Village Headwoman Mwamwadi says they need well-wishers to rebuild for them a new modern mosque as the old one collapsed due to heavy rains.
The chief complains that they are finding it difficult to pray in the collapsed and dilapidated mosque as it is flooded with water during rainy season due to leakage of the roof.
“Our mosque collapsed and it is in bad shape. Here we have huge number of people (almost 200) who used to come to this mosque. Our roof is tattered and leaks so much that it is filled up with water hence we find it difficult to pray in this condition. Sometimes it poise threat to our lives. So we are asking well-wishers to rebuild new mosque for us in order to do our ibaadah in a good condition,” She said.
In his remarks, the Chairperson of the mosque , requests Islamic organisations to assist/provide for them with Madrassah as they have a lot of children who are being taught by a sheikh who is just a volunteer.
