The National Chairman of the Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM), Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad, was in Lusaka, Zambia, today to pay a courtesy call to the newly appointed Ambassador of Turkey to Zambia and Malawi, His Excellency Hüseyin Barbaros DICLE.
The meeting, characterized by mutual respect and goodwill, provided Sheikh Muhammad an opportunity to showcase the impactful work MAM has been conducting throughout Malawi—spanning education, healthcare, and various social welfare programs. He conveyed the profound gratitude that the Malawian Muslim community feels toward Turkey for its consistent support, which has transformed countless lives through educational scholarships, infrastructure development projects, and humanitarian assistance.
“Turkey has proven to be a steadfast friend to Malawi,” Sheikh Muhammad stated. “From constructing schools to providing aid to those in need, your nation’s generosity has instilled hope in many communities.”
The discussions also explored potential new areas for collaboration, with both parties affirming their dedication to strengthening bilateral ties. Ambassador DICLE expressed admiration for MAM’s initiatives and enthusiastically anticipated deepening partnerships that would benefit all Malawian citizens.
