United Democratic Front (UDF) leader Atupele Muluzi has commended Dr Lazarus Chakwera for his ‘decisive action’ on the investigative covid-19 funds audit report which revealed how the funds were embezzled.
Posting on his official Facebook page, Muluzi said corruption is a cancer that must be rooted out.
“Congratulations to H.E Dr Lazarus Chakwera for your decisive action! Corruption is cancer that must be rooted out. we have as a nation developed a culture that it is ok to abuse state resources at the expense of ordinary Malawians. I pray that this is the turning point and every patriotic Malawian will support you in fighting this vice,” he said.
These remarks come barely hours after the president delivered his speech where he also told the nation that he has fired his Minister of Labour after his name was implicated in the audit report.
