For the first time, Blantyre based Muslim youth have been presented with an opportunity to celebrate eidul al-adha by gathering at Iqra Islamic Propagation centre.
The event which has been scheduled on Sunday, October 28, 2012 has been organised by Blantyre Muslim Youth Network (BMYN) under the theme ‘enhancing the spirit of togetherness.’
This year’s Eid al-Adha is expected to take place on Friday this week, Islamic Information Bureau Sheikh Dinala Chabulika has confirmed.
According to the Publicity Secretary of BMYN Noordin Cassim, apart from celebrating eid al-adha, the event has also been organised to encourage togetherness among the Muslim youth which he said is the key towards several aspects of development.
‘’As youth we have a big role to play towards the development of Islam and the country-but if we are not united then, it is obvious that we can’t manage performing our roles . A situation that may affect our religion and nation,’’ he said
Alot of activities such as live nasheeds performances, poem recitals, Quran competition have been lined up for the event as it is the final celebration for Muslims in this year.
In addition prominent sheikhs and other professionals have been invited to deliver their lecture at the magnificent centre.
This is the second time for Blantyre based Muslim youth to celebrate eid this year after eidul Fitr, which was organised by Blantyre Muslim Students Association with support from Islamic Information Bureau.
