Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) Regional Secretary General for the Northern Region Hamis Lack Abdullah has refuted allegations that the entire committee has resigned.
In a statement sent to Malawi Muslims Official Website, Abdullah said anyone spreading such rumours is a liar and his fabricated stories should be ignored.
“We are deeply shocked with the allegations circulating in the social media that the entire Northern Region Committee has resigned. We want to make it clear that anyone spreading such rumours is a liar and his fabricated stories should be ignored,” he said.
The Secretary therefore emphasized the committee has no intention or whatsoever to resign.
“Northern Region Office wishes to assure all Malawians that MAM Northern Region Committee is intact and has no intention to resign as indicated in the social media,” reads part of the statement.
Since towards the end of last year, other power hungry people started running propaganda against MAM’s leadership. They have been sending false stories in the social media so that Muslims in Malawi should get angry and go to the streets in protest of MAM’s leadership but their dubius dealings have all been exposed.
