Malawi President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera says the newly-configured cabinet must practice servant leadership to propel social economic development of the country.
The Malawi leader made the remarks today during a swearing in ceremony of the Ministers at Kamuzu Palace in Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe.
“I have reminded the ministers of what my consideration of a successful tenure in my cabinet entails,”
“It is my expectation and that of all Malawians to have a cabinet that practices servant leadership to the book,” Chakwera says.
He adds,” we all expect cabinet ministers with the right attitude and mindset to serve the Tonse agenda in unity. It is only when we work together as members of one cabinet that we will achieve a lot in terms of transforming people’s livelihoods through delivery of social services.”
Chakwera pledges to continue monitoring his cabinet to ensure that it is delivering on his promises in line with his servant leadership philosophy.
The new cabinet has 27 members. Chakwera has fired some members and hired others to fulfil his campaign promises to Malawians.
