Wednesday, 26th April, 2023, President, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has left the country for Zimbabwe to attend Transform Africa Summit (TAS).
“I am leading the Malawi delegation at the 6th Transform Africa Summit being held at the Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe,” the president wrote on his official Facebook page.
According to Chakwera, the summit brings together African leaders, policymakers and technology experts who are poised to shape Africa’s development narrative from what it is now to a knowledge-based economy supported by a digital revolution.
He adds,” The main thematic thrust of discussions will be around accelerating digital transformation for African societies. This aligns perfectly with our development agenda Malawi Vision 2063 in which we intend to spur development through digitalisation.”
The president says there will also be learnings for Malawi in how we can build capacity in digital infrastructure, smart governance and digital entrepreneurship.
The Transform Africa Summit is the leading Africa tech and digital event organised by Smart Africa which gathers over 5000 delegates from more than 100 countries to engage on the digital transformation of the continent across multiple sectors.
Heads of States, who constitute Smart Africa’s board, Ministers, International Industry leaders and key players in the ICT a 3 day event aimed at making core decisions for Africa’s socio economic development through ICT.
