The Malawi Vice President Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima says Malawians stand to benefit from recent trip that President Lazarus Chakwera made to the United Kingdom (UK).
Chilima says Chakwera’s trip to the UK will enable the country achieve its Vision 2063.
“I am delighted that our President, His Excellency Dr Lazarus Chakwera made a strong pitch on the importance of Human Capital Development to the attainment of our vision MW2063. Malawi stands to benefit from the over $4 Billion raised at the Global Education Summit held recently in London,” he says.
According to Chilima, the UK Government has already announced K37 billion funding to Malawi to support teaching of Mathematics and girls education.
“These resources will not only help improve the delivery of quality education in Malawi, but will also positively impact on education outcomes for our learners and ultimately support the generation of knowledge and skills needed to drive this country forward. National Planning Commission of Malawi #MW2063#,” he says.
Chakwera went to the UK to attend the Global Education Summit. Among other leaders from Africa who also attended the summit include President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta and President of Nigeria Muhammad Buhari.
