As barely five days remaining for Muslim Sisters Aids Network (MUSANET) organization elections to take place, Sr. Roshani Pajwani, organisation’s trustee has issued a warning to all sisters who are not members of the organization not to attempt to go and vote unless if they want to be ‘ashamed.’
Sr. Pajwani said elections will be held Sunday, March 6th 2011 from exactly, 7:30 and that the executive meeting was dissolved on February 21st 2011, which was also the final date of submitting nomination forms.
Six people from eleven supporting groups in Blantyre have already shown the interest.
“We would like to inform all sisters who are not members or have not yet paid their membership fees not attempt to come or otherwise they will be ashamed as they will not be allowed to enter the election premises,” she said in a recorded statement aired on Radio Islam Malawi, adding that they want the elections to be free and fair.
Musanet is a non-governmental Islamic organization which was formed two years ago with an aim of breaking the silence among Muslim Women in Malawi.
We wish them the best of luck and hope for new good leadership. We also request the would be executive to continue the good work the interim executive has done. Bravo Musanet!!!
