The man holding the Muslim Association of Malawi’s banner of development, Sheikh Idrissah Muhammad was born in August in 1970 in Mangochi district.
He is a holder of Bachelors Degree obtained at the University of Madina Saudi Arabia.

Before elected to become the overall in charge and chairman of Muslim Association of Malawi, he worked as the Country Director for World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) from 2005-2011.
Sheikh Idrissah Muhammad is the moment National Chairman of Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM), a mother body of Islamic Organizations in the country since 2012.
In 2013, he was honored by the former president of the Republic of Malawi, Madam Joyce Banda, to serve as Board Member of National Initiative for Civic and Voter education and also a Board Member of National Integrity Committee.

Since assuming leadership role of leading the only oldest Umbrella body of Muslim Organizations in Malawi, Sheikh Idrissah Muhammad has brought a change to the face of the organization for both local and International outlook.

Among the numerous records, Muslim Association of Malawi, under the leadership of Sheikh Idrissah Muhammad managed to rekindle the confidence of the donor community with Gulf region as major centre of attraction.
Since inception, the incumbent MAM chair, Sheikh Idrissah Muhammad, as way of sourcing funds for various developmental projects and rebuilding the lost glory, has visited 10 countries including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Dubai, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Burundi, and Sudan.

Progressively, the much commented donors with Muslim Association of Malawi have made strides in implementing some projects throughout the country ranging from construction and renovation of Mosques, construction of new school blocks, boreholes and distribution of relief items to various destination of Malawi.
The Association has also distributed spectacles to some patients suffering from eye sight, bicycles to sheikhs to ease their mobility within their localities. The physically challenged are not left out as beneficiaries of MAM help as some tricycles were distributed to them.

The Muslim Association of Malawi has not been stagnant with only one development. The Association initiated poultry farming at Gada farm in Blantyre as a way of expanding the means of resources for Muslim Association.
Coming from a slow background, which saw 22 years of dry in getting any funding, locally as international, MAM today is proud to have succeeded in deals with donor community. Under Sheikh Idrissah, the Muslim Association of Malawi has constructed 19 Masjids, distributed relief items across the country, and constructed 18 boreholes and school blocks.

It is with that notion, the considered thought of the majority of Muslims in Malawi, feels that the incumbent chairman of the Muslim Association of Malawi; Shaikh Idrissah Muhammad should be given further opportunity to continue with the drive seat of Muslim Association of Malawi, to take these developments to another level.
