The sun never sets and the night never vanishes without hearing news about killings of innocent people in Palestine. Every day Palestinians are being murdered in their own land and this has become normal to our ears. The beautiful city of Gaza in those days has camouflaged into a grave of innocent women and children with its ground turning red by human blood.

We cannot skirt around the point that it is the Jews who are at rage with Muslims. Do not be fooled by some Media that justifies Israel’s massacre in Gaza as one way of defending its citizens. How can you defend your country by killing innocent women and children? What type of protection is it when hospitals and schools are destroyed?

Israel is fooling the world in many ways in order to win support because it is aware that it is on the wrong side. Google is working hard at coming up with android games that justifies Israel’s atrocities in Gaza. So far there is a game called bomb gaza where players are tasked with dropping bombs on a two-dimensional representation of the Palestinian-controlled territory. The game involves piloting an Israeli air-force jet over Gaza and attempting to bomb cartoon Hamas militants, which are usually located in the same buildings of smiling civilians, many of which appear to be holding children. The game, which was released late last month, had been installed around 1,000 times. Meanwhile this game has been removed after some game users expressed disgust at its content with others saying “Please take this off the play store. It is offensive.” Chris Doyle, the director of the Council for Arab-British Understanding, told The Telegraph that such games were in “glorify the horror and violence of the bombing of Gaza, sanitizing for a younger generation what is a dreadful conflict that has killed thousands and decimated the lives of hundreds of thousands.”

The Holy Qur’an has stories that we can reflect with regard to the current situation. If you are a historian or a researcher or just interested in reading history books, you will agree with me that the Jews hate believers. This is why they killed many prophets that God sent to them. They are fond of twisting the truth and spying. Holy Qur’an says: “You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers (to be) the Jews and those who associate others with God ; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers are those who say, “We are Christians.” That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant. (Surat Maidah : 82). I don’t have to elaborate this verse because you are all aware that many Churches have been criticizing Israel even before it started predating Gaza.

Islam is a religion that encourages unity and brotherhood among Muslims despite their origin, gender, colour, race and tribe. All Muslims are considered as one body that if one part is hurt, the whole body shares pain. In other ways, the problems that Muslims of another area or country are going through should affect those who are safe. It is very sad that this powerful Islamic teaching is just theory. Nowadays many Muslims are greedy, merciless and selfish which is parallel to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). I’m not comfortable to say this but the reality should be known may be it can change the mindset of the younger generation.

It is amazing that Israel’s first attack was followed by protest in countries dominated by non-Muslims while Muslims themselves were silent just watching from a distance. Some Jews who have a human heart also protested against their own government in Tel Aviv, Israel, yet even this time Muslims remained back benchers. Muslims started voicing out when the situation was out of hand. Even that time, it was just words without actions which is practically nothing.

Gaza dwellers are crying for help day and night, they have no food to eat, no where to sleep, no water to drink, suffering with linking wounds desperately but Islamic world has richest countries that can help them. The hardships came to the boiling point without any hand. Algeria donated World Cup prize money to Gaza at this point saying ‘They need it more than us.” Now we hear at eleventh hour that Saudi Arabia provided $53m for Gaza medical care in early August while Iran is in the process of boosting Hamas capacity. Iran also requested Islamic world to support Hamas by arms for defense but it is uncertain that there is any Islamic country that has responded positively despite reports that British government is arming Israel. Although it is too late, Kuwait, Qatar and Egypt’s determination to end war in Gaza is of much importance. As we pray for peace in Gaza we have to know that “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” Qur’an 13:11. It is time of supporting words with actions and burying selfishness in the Muslim world in order to achieve peace.
