In a bid to ensure Muslim students are passing the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) And Junior School Certificate of Education (JSCE) Examinations with good grades, the Islamic Information Bureau IIB youth desk has introduced special lessons for this year’s Muslim candidates.
IIB Youth desk officer Jafari Idana said that his organisation realises the importance of education hence introducing the concept.
“For our Muslim youth to excel in education, then the foundation is the secondary school. Once they pass with good grades at MSCE then they are assured of attaining higher education either in local or international Universities,” he said.
This is the very first time for the Bureau to have this program.
The exercise is being conducted in Blantyre, Zomba and Lilongwe offices.
Asked why IIB is not carrying out the program in all the offices it has in the country, Idana said it was due to the reason that the bureau has only youth desk offices in the three offices only.
“We are doing this in offices that have the youth desk for smooth operations.”
The program which started last month and is open to both male and female Muslim Students.
Under this program, professional teachers are taking the students with revision and on how to study towards examinations during weekends.
