Islamic Information Bureau (IIB) Youth Desk national coordinator Jafar Idana said his department will soon establish its new office in Zomba.
Idana revealed the plans in an interview with Malawi Muslims Official Website where he also took time to appreciate the support it gets from Muslim students nationwide.
Idana said the support from the students is making his department to achieve its objectives.
“We act as a bridge on bursaries for students to organisations such as the Islamic Zakaat Fund IZF, Zam Zam Foundation ,Munazamat Dawah Islamia and others,’’ he said.
He said since the inception of his department, Muslim Students Associations (MSA) have now started reorganising themselves as it used to be in the past decades.
The desk office also provides guidelines to Muslim youth who are not in school on how they should be conducting several activities ranging from get together to charity, explained Idana.
The office has a radio Program on Radio Islam called MSA talk show which gives Muslim students a platform to express their thoughts on both religious and secular education.
The establishment of the office in the old capital city of Zomba brings the number of the offices to three, nationwide.
Other offices are in Blantyre and Lilongwe.
According to Idana, IIB also plans to open another office in Northern region’s Mzuzu city next year.
