Islamic organisation called Islamic Health Association of Malawi (IHAM) in conjunction with Physicians across the Continent (PAC) through the Ministry of Health has organised a surgical camp at Nkhotakota district hospital from 6th to 14th December ,2019.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Malawi Muslim Website, IHAM Executive Secretary Hajji Daitoni says during the camp free surgical services in endocrinology (goitre) ,urology and pediatrics will be offered.
“It’s a medical camp whereby we have invited specialist doctors to carry out free surgeries to deserving Malawians who have no chance to see a specialist,”
“Most poor Malawians to not have the chance to get medical care from high specialised individuals. For your example, currently, Malawi has no specialist in Urology. We are bringing one to do surgeries not in Lilongwe or Blantyre but Nkhotakota,” Daitoni said.
He further told Malawi Muslim Website that the camp is vital because it is within the scope of work for IHAM that health people means a health nation and health is a fundamental human right.
All the patients in need of the surgical services should visit Nkhotakota district hospital before 6th December, 2019 for registration.
