Machinga based Islamic group called Machinga IDP Imams which is under Imam Development Program(IDP) yesterday cheered Matanda Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) students in the Traditional Authority (TA) Mposa in Machinga in an effort to encourage them to work extra hard in both secular and religious education in order for them to be responsible citizens.
Speaking during the event, Sheikh Shaff Duwa, who is the Chairperson of the group said they organised this event in order to encourage and strengthen the Muslim students to prepare themselves before exams as it is disheartening to see them with poor performance.
“It worries us to see poor performance of our fellow brothers. Sometimes it’s not that they fail but sometimes it’s due to lack of motivators to motivate and guide them,” He said.
In his remarks, Sheikh Daud Kholomana, who was the guest of honour thanked the Machinga IDP Imams for their motivation message as it will make the students to work hard in both secular and religious studies.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Kholomana has called on all schools in the district to have such meetings in order to help the students strengthen their goals through these interactions.
