Italian top flight side Internazionale Milano popularly known as Inter Milan has unveiled Malawi women national football team (scorchers) captain Tabitha Chawinga who has put pen to paper on a year long loan contract from Chinese club Wuhan Jianghan Fc.
The 26 year old former DD Sunshine attacker makes a return to European football 6 years since leaving Swedish side Kvarnsvedens where where she scored 84 goals in 70 appearances and won the league (Elitettan) in 2015 and finished as the league’s top goalscorer for the second time that year where she was also voted as the best attacker.
Posting on their Twitter page, Inter Milan football club announced the signing of the former three time Chinese women’s super league top scorer and two time player of the year winner with pictures of her in the team’s trophy cabinet.
Inter Milan and Wuhan Jianghan University Fc have agreed a season long contract for Thabitha with an option to buy.
Inter Milan women’s team was formed in 2018 and won promotion to Italy’s top tier league (Serie A) the same year after winning the Serie B league. The team finished Fifth in Serie A last season.
