Minister of Water and Sanitation, Honorable Abida Sidik Mia says her ministry is committed to provide clean water and improved sanitation to every Malawian.
According to Mia, the Ministry of Water and Sanitation will use every effort to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number Six (6) which calls for ensuring that everyone has access to clean water.
“I remain very concerned about the country’s cholera problem and we are making every effort to ensure that the people have greater access to clean water and improved sanitation. I implore one and all to maintain high levels of hygiene, personally, at home, and at work,” she says.
She adds,” please use clean water to drink and prepare food. Let us all work diligently to bring this disease under control.”
In the past days, Honorable Abida Mia in her capacity as Minister of Water and Sanitation undertook several meetings aimed at ensuring that Malawians have access to clean water and improved sanitation.
The Minister has also commended Malawi president , Dr. Lazarus Chakwera for re-appointing her as Minister of Water and Sanitation. The Chikwawa Mkombezi Member of Parliament (MP) promises to use her position productively by serving Malawians diligently.
