Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) National Chairman Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad is in South Korea where he was invited to attend the 3rd World Alliance for Religious Peace (WARP) summit.
WARP Summit brings together over 1,000 leaders and citizens for 3 days of intensive networking and celebration while developing an action agenda for world peace and cessation of war that reflects global citizens’ hopes and aspirations.
This is a huge opportunity for Malawi, the Muslim community in particular as through the intensive networking, the chairman will make new connections with other world leaders who might help to achieve MAM’s development agendas.
And realising that everyone has a role to play in ensuring that there is peace, the summit also provides all groups with a platform to share ideas and create concrete strategies for developing cooperation for peace.
This year’s summit is held under the slogan “Together for peace as messengers of peace”, which shows the determination of all participants to work together for a world of peace and cessation of war.
The summit started on 17th September through 19 September 2017.
