Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has congratulated the sixth president of Malawi, Dr Lazarus Chakwera and his Vice Dr Saulos Chilima.
The two sworn in today at Malawi Square in Lilongwe following Malawi Electoral Commission’s announcement of the 23rd June, 2020 Fresh Presidential Polls last night.
“The Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) wishes to congratulate His Excellency Dr Lazarus Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi and the Vice President of the Republic of Malawi Right Honourable Dr Saulos Chilima for winning the Fresh Presidential Elections held on 23st June 2020. We wish the Almighty Allah to bless and protect them during their tenure of office,” reads a statement issued by MAM National Chairman Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad.
MAM has promised to work with “Tonse Alliance” Government for the benefit of Muslims in the country.
“MAM wishes to reiterate that its policy is to support and work with the government of the day, as always has been the case in the past. In this regard, we wish to assure His Excellency of our unflinching support to him personally and his government,”
“We ask the Almighty Allah to protect His Excellency against any ill wishes; and that He should guide and bless him and the mother Malawi,” reads a statement.
