Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has constructed five mosques in Machinga district.
Malawi Muslim Website caught up with Ibrahim Twaibu,Deputy Regional Secretary (Centre) for MAM who said the newly constructed Mosques will help Muslims who were spending kilometres to pray.

“The project started in 2018 . The newly constructed are in Chitseko, Chipamba, Chilonga, Leka and Naungu villages,”
“Muslims are now praying in good mosques. In the past they used to cover distances to pray but nowadays mosques are everywhere,” He said.
The Deputy Regional Secretary has hailed MAM for the job and pleaded for the construction of madrassa blocks in all mosques to enable Muslim children learn Islam.
“I want to appreciate a good job that MAM is doing and I want to request the organisation to construct madrassa blocks and introduce madrassa in all mosques , Insha Allah,” he said.
