The Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) through its National Chairman , Sheikh Idrissah Muhammad has constructed school blocks at Mufti Abbas Primary School in Mangochi district.
Speaking in an interview with Muslim Media Agency, the Secretary for MAM Mangochi district, Sheikh Abubakar Kananji says the association has constructed two blocks comprising three classes and office for the headteacher.
Sheikh Kananji says the construction of the toilets at the school is underway.
“The blocks which were handed over to the school yesterdsy were constructed with the donation from the MAM National Chairman, His Eminence Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad,”
“The Top One Civil Contractor is the Company which was mandated to construct these six classrooms plus the office of the headteacher,” he says.
Sheikh Kananji says the community of the area asked MAM for Mangochi district to look at the congestion of pupils at the school.
“…At that time, there were sixteen streams which were learning out side under the trees, then the chairman of MAM, Mangochi district put the concern to the national chairman who promised to look into it.” he says.
According to Sheikh Kananji, the construction of the blocks commenced in January, 2023.
