Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) employees can now afford a smile following the court order to allow the National Chairperson Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad to authorize payments of salaries and other operations under his office.
On Thursday Malawi Muslims Official Website reported that over 100 Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) employees risked their December salaries delay following the court order which some disgrantled Muslims obtained restraining Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad and his servants to perform his duties as MAM national Chairperson.
The move halted the operations of MAM risking lives of families of over 100 employees working under the association.
However, on Friday morning Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad got a permission to continue with his work after his lawyers went to the High Court in Lilongwe to seek a varrying order.
“It is here ordered and directed that the Order of Interlocutory Injunction granted on 2204 December, 2021 herein be varied to the extent that the 2nd Defendant be allowed to sign cheques/authorize payments for salaries and other operations of The Muslim Association of Malawi and Institutions under it where he is the principal signatory of the bank accounts until further order of the Court or the determination of this matter,” reads part of the order.
